Say hello to Autonomy Therapist Val De La Garza (She/Her)

LPC-Associate

Supervised by Dr. Bill McHenry, PhD, NCC, LPC-S

clinical therapist

I’m a dedicated LPC-Associate with a passion for supporting teens, young adults, and adults as they navigate the complexities of growing up, discovering who they are, and managing the emotional weight that can come with change. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, self-doubt, life transitions, or relationship conflict, I work to create a therapeutic space where clients feel grounded, capable, and connected to their own inner resources.

My work is rooted in Narrative Therapy and Reality Therapy—approaches that help clients explore the stories they’ve been told (or tell themselves) and make empowered choices aligned with their values and goals. Together, we focus on what’s in your control, how you relate to yourself and others, and how to take steps that build a more intentional, meaningful life.

As a bilingual therapist with a Hispanic background, I deeply value cultural identity and the unique challenges it can bring. I bring curiosity and care into every session, honoring the different parts of your story including the ones that feel painful, stuck, or unfinished.

I support adolescents (13+), young adults, and individuals in early adulthood who are navigating identity, emotional struggles, relationship challenges, and the search for self-confidence and direction.
